HOLDERS Felsted Chequers B remain on course to retain the Ridley League Dominoes Cup after making short work of St Anne’s Castle.
Wayne Goodwin and Adam Mixture were their only losers in a second-round clash that was over with one series of games still unplayed.
Chequers A’s hopes of completing a Felsted double in the last four were torpedoed at the Compasses in a yo-yo clash: 2-1 to the home side after the first set, 3-3 after the next.
The Chelmsford pub prevailed as Grant Gregory and Paul Jackson notched their first win of the night in support of the unbeaten Lewis Hayes and Martin Hearn.
City FC’s resurgent form continued at the Bird in Hand. Again, the first six games were shared, but the visitors swept the board in the final series, Mike Frappell and Claire Parnell going undefeated.
No match sheet from the Globe-Little Waltham SC tussle, but an insider’s report gives it as 5-1 to reigning Dominoes League champions Waltham.
