FOUR second-half goals made it back-to-back league wins for Chelmsford City.

Strikes from Michael Cheek, Rohdell Gordon, Lee Sawyer and Jason Williams sealed the three points for the Clarets after an impressive second-half performance against Hemel Hempstead earned them a 4-0 win.

It was always going to be a tough test for the Clarets – Hemel had only been defeated three times in 10 league games prior to this encounter – and midfielder Wes Daly was particularly impressive.

But for all their endeavour the hosts eventually took the lead. Hemel failed to deal with an outstanding cross from Rob Girdlestone and, as the ball dropped to Michael Cheek around 12 yards from goal, he made no mistake in slamming home the loose ball.

And just eight minutes later the Clarets doubled their lead. Rohdell Gordon made some space on the left before bursting into the box and slotting home from a tight-angle as City looked to have sealed all three points.

Lee Sawyer then rounded off a great counter-attack, stemming from Gordon’s counter attack. The striker burst through the middle before spraying the ball wide to Joe Ward.

Sawyer then rounded off the move by tucking away the pin-point cross before Jason Williams added a fourth, scoring with a strike from the edge-the-edge of the box as City made it back-to-back Conference South wins.

The Southend United player has scored three goals in his five appearances so far for the Clarets and will be at City until January 1, 2015.
