Mark Hawkes’ Chelmsford City side play host to FA Trophy Semi-Finalists Gosport Borough on Saturday. (3pm KO).

Gosport Borough have Wembley firmly in their sights after sealing a 2-1 away win at Skrill North outfit North Ferriby United.

Borough drew fellow Skrill South side Havant and Waterlooville in the semi-finals after the Hawks ran out 4-1 winners in their respective last-sixteen clash against Aldershot Town of the Skrill Premier to set-up a mouth-watering tie.

The two clubs will fight for a place at Wembley when the two legged semi-finals take place on Saturday 15th February at Havant’s Westleigh Park and Saturday 22nd February at Borough’s Privett Park.

It’s not all rosy for The Boro’ this season however as they sit second-from-bottom with 19-points and so will have to put the prospect of walking up Wembley Way at the back of their minds as they try and claw their way out of the relegation zone.

Borough picked up a crucial, and respectable, 2-2 draw at home to play-off chasers Sutton United in midweek. Gosport Borough surrendered a two-goal lead as strikes from Sutton’s Simon Downer and Jamie Slabber cancelled out Sammy Igoe’s spot-kick and Mike Gosney’s 30-yard strike.

The Clarets enter this game on the back of a harsh 2-1 defeat at home to Ebbsfleet United and will see this as a ‘six-pointer’ for both sides as they look to further widen the gap between themselves and the bottom three.

The Clarets will be wary as Gosport have already tasted victory against the Clarets this season – a 2-1 win back in October – although they find themselves in good form having picked up only two defeats in their last eleven matches.
