MARK Hawkes’ Chelmsford City side will be looking to build upon the 2-2 draw picked up against Dover Athletic at the weekend when Ebbsfleet United visit Melbourne tonight.

Christian Smith’s first goal for the Clarets was followed up by a last-gasp leveller by Kieron St Aimie to earn the Clarets a respectable draw at Dover Athletic after finding themselves 2-0 down at half-time.

That draw keeps the momentum ticking in the favour of the Clarets who have taken their points tally to 31, which keeps them nine points above the relegation zone in 13th place.

Ebbsfleet United, meanwhile, find themselves comfortably within the play-off places in third with 41 points from 25 games.

The Fleet, who have four ex-Clarets in their ranks including Anthony Cook, Aiden Palmer, Billy Bricknell and Alex Osborne, recorded a 1-1 draw at Weston-super-Mare in their last outing.

The Clarets have already tasted victory against Steve Brown’s men when goals from Tom Derry and Rob Edmans sealed the 2-0 win in front of a 696-strong crowd at Stonebridge Road last September.

Hawkes’ side, who have only tasted defeat twice in their last ten outings, will be looking for a similar score-line when the Fleet visit Melbourne for the game which kicks off at 7.45pm.
