THE Clarets are looking to build upon two impressive victories – picked up against Whitehawk and Concord Rangers respectively – when bottom-of-the-table Dorchester Town visit Melbourne Stadium on Saturday (3pm KO).

Mark Hawkes’ Chelmsford City side recorded a crucial win away at Whitehawk last weekend before goals from Luke Callander, Michael Cheek and Rob Edmans sealed a 3-1 victory over Danny Cowley’s Concord.

That win at the Aspect Arena made it just one defeat in nine games for the Clarets since Mark Hawkes and Steve Smith took over the reins of the Melbourne-based club last November.

Chelmsford City will be wary, however, as City returned from the Magpies’ Avenue Stadium with zero points after being on the receiving end of a 2-0 score-line back in September.

This Saturday’s hosts are currently riding high however after finding themselves in thirteenth position in the Skrill South table, which now tells a completely different story to that of four months ago as the Clarets have begun to pick up some pace and steer themselves away from the relegation zone, and another three points will certainly go a long way in achieving that feat.

Dorchester Town, meanwhile, were on the wrong end of a 4-0 result against Dover Athletic after a hat-trick from ex-Claret Jeff Goulding sealed the win.

The Magpies’ match last Tuesday against Hayes and Yeading United was abandoned.

On the same day, Dorchester Town were buoyed by the news that they secured the signature of Nathan Walker on a month’s loan from Weymouth. He re-joins after spending last season at the Avenue Stadium and will go straight into Saturday’s squad.
