Oasis pull out of Chelmsford's V Fest

Headline act Oasis have pulled out of performing at Chelmsford’s V Festival.

Lead singer Liam Gallagher was told not to perform by his doctor after being diagnosed with viral laryngitis.

Word began to reach the 85,000-strong crowd at about 1.30pm and small pockets of boos were heard around Hylands Park.

The Mancunian band spent Saturday afternoon watching their beloved Manchester City beating Wolves before making the short trip to Weston Park to headline the V Festival’s Staffordshire leg.

Snow Patrol, due to go on stage before Oasis, will now perform as the headline act.
