With a free vote in the House of Commons taking place in the next year, the debate over fox hunting is intensifying again in Maldon district.
Every New Year’s Day, supporters and protesters alike take their places on Maldon High Street for the annual hunt parade.
This year, for the first time since the hunting ban came into force in 2005, a proposed new Act of Parliament could make it legal again for dogs to hunt wild mammals such as foxes, deer and hares.
