A DOCTOR who assaulted a woman driver months before being jailed for a £15,000 deception has been kicked out of the profession.

Dr Juamer Baldar, who worked at Chelmsford's Broomfield Hospital, was told by GMC chairman Dr Kevin Walters at a hearing on Tuesday that his conviction for the assault on Karenjeet Grewal was wholly reprehensive and was compounded by his conviction for dishonesty.

Dr Walter said: "Your conduct represents a serious departure from the standards of conduct and behaviour expected of a registered medical practitioner and that your behaviour is fundamentally incompatible with your remaining on the Medical Register."

The crooked doctor, who worked at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, fabricated his CV with fictitious personal details, medical qualifications and medical history, over a four-year period.

The lies enabled Baldar to successfully apply for posts at eight different NHS trusts.

His cheat came to light after he claimed sick pay from Mid Essex NHS Trust, which runs Broomfield, between December 2002 and August 2004, while working for the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, and the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust.

Baldar later admitted nine counts of obtaining pecuniary advantage for self by deception and one count of obtaining money transfer by deception at Chelmsford Crown Court on November 25, last year.

He was also ordered to pay £10,848 to Mid North Essex Hospitals NHS Trust, which is still outstanding.

During the two-day hearing, Baldar downplayed his deceit as "small white lies", claiming such behaviour is acceptable in Iraq.

But a Fitness to Practise Panel concluded he was guilty of serious professional misconduct.

The hearing heard that Baldar screamed abuse at Karenjeet Grewal after accusing her of cutting him up in her car on the Uxbridge Road in Ealing, West London.

The Iraqi medic bawled "You're an ugly bitch!" before spitting on Ms Grewal and raining punches down into her head and face.

Ms Grewal's face was left bruised and swollen following the "reprehensible" attack.

Baldar escaped jail with a 240-hour community punishment order after he was convicted of assault by beating at Ealing Magistrates' Court on February 28 last year.

He was also ordered to pay Ms Grewal £1,000 compensation But less than a year later, the asylum seeker was jailed for nine months for swindling taxpayers out of £15,311 and telling a series of lies on his CV.

Baldar, of Mark Close, Southall, Middlesex, came to the UK in March 1994 and applied for asylum.

He has since been given British citizenship.

The doctor showed no emotion as he left the hearing in central London.
