POCKLINGTON beat Bishopthorpe by 62 runs to clinch the York & District Junior Cricket Association Quality Solicitors Burn & Company Under-11 (Incrediball) Championship, writes Paul Wilkinson.

Pock batted first and their score of 297 was thanks to Harvey Dixon’s 24 with support from Tom Scrowston (12), Tom Kirby (11) and Matt Mabbet (11) – and 56 extras.

Alistair Bowman finished with excellent figures of 1-2, while Alex Fearns took 1-4 and there were wickets for Joe Curtis, Angus Bindloss, Will Middleton and James Gascoyne.

Bish could only score 235 in reply as George Watson claimed 4-4 and Seb Williman 4-11.

Curtis made 18 not out and Matthew Sharples also made 18, while there were also wickets for Ted Baty (1-5) and Scrowston (1-12).

In the semi-finals, Pock beat Stamford Bridge by five runs to avenge their defeat by the same opponents three days earlier in the U11 Cup final.

Williman was the star for Pock with 11 not out and figures of 3-11.

Scrowston made 13 runs and took 2-24, Baty claimed 2-15 and Dan Isenstein took 2-24.

Dan Durkin (16), Charlie Craig (11) and Ben Beard (10) were the pick of the Bridge batsman, with Taylor Stanton (2-3) and Matthew MacFarlane (2-11) the best bowlers.
