A MAN has been arrested after a crash on the M25 in which a woman died.

The 24-year-old man from Basildon has been questioned by police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the crash at 5.40am Friday on the clockwise carriageway.

Police have now named the dead woman as Polish national Izabela Derbis who was living in West London.

The woman had been a passenger in a Renault Scenic, one of four vehicles involved in the crash which happened between junction 29 for the A127 and junction 30 for Lakeside.

The driver of the Scenic is in a stable condition at Romford's Queens hospital.

The driver of a Jaguar is also detained in hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening. The driver of an Alfa Romeo was not injured.

The arrested man, who was driving a van, has been released on police bail until later this month, pending further inquiries.
