POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of a parrot.
The bird was taken from an aviary at The Common in Galleywood between 2.30pm and 5pm on Sunday July 5.
The seven year old Red Lord parrot answers to the name of George. He is mainly a grass green colour with red markings above his beak.
The parrot belongs to Graham Thomas who has appealed for its return.
His wife Debbie said: “He is lost without George. He is quiet and isn’t really saying anything. George is good company and welcomes you home. He sits on my husband’s shoulder although he doesn’t like me very much.”
Mrs Thomas said the parrot which they have had since he was five weeks old has several catchphrases such as ‘George is a good boy’ and ‘What are you doing.’ “He is very noisy and I think people would hear him before they saw him.”
Anyone with information should call police on 0300 333 4444 where the investigating officer is PC David Wren.
