A flash mob caused a stir at Lakeside Shopping Centre.
Shoppers where stopped in their tracks when the Rock Choir, which has groups in Wickford, Leigh, Chelmsford and Brentwood, unexpectedly performed “Dancing in the Street” as part of a synchronised charity event across the UK.
All the money raised went to Sport Relief.
Lakeside’s marketing manager, Sophie Scott, said: “We were delighted to host this flash mob for our local Rock Choir members.
“We also thought it would be a fantastic way to treat our shoppers to a fun surprise when they were least expecting it.”
The Lakeside flash mob raised more than £300 and helped Rock Choir raise in excess of £10,000 in total for Sports Relief.
