Mr Charles Jack Fisher with other members of the British forceswas presented with the Pinsat Jasa Malaysia medal on 23 April at the Imperial war musium in Manchester by Brigadier General Othman Jamal the defence attache from the Malaysian Embassy.
Jack as he likes to be known was born in Vange in 1938 and has seen Basildon grow up around him. He joined the forces in the army in 1956 and was posted out to Malaya to fight the comunist.
