Following a tip-off from Essex Police, officers from London’s Met Police carried out raids on 12 houses in Barking, Dagenham, Waltham Forest, Redbridge and Newham, all in East London, yesterday.
The raids were in connection with the prostitution and trafficking of four youngsters from the county, all aged between 16 and 18.
The four men arrested - who are all in their 20s and from East London - have been arrested for a range of offences including sexual exploitation, controlling a child prostitute and rape.
All four are still being questioned in custody.
