UPDATED: Police search town after gun reports
ARMED police searched Colchester town centre after a phone call reported someone with a firearm in Castle Park.
The Essex Police helicopter hovered over the park while officers on foot searched for the suspect and the gun.
The operation has been stood down and officers found no trace of a firearm, a police spokesman said.
