A ROAD rage incident and collision on the A120 has left a motorist with minor injuries and extensive damage to his vehicle.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a blue Saab 93 and a black VW Jetta are believed to have been involved in a road rage incident whilst travelling from Marks Tey to Braintree at around 6.45pm on Tuesday.

Both vehicles came to a stop and the Jetta appraoched the Saab.

The Saab, which was behind the VW Jetta, drove around it and into the path of oncoming traffic.

In order to avoid colliding with the Saab, another motorist who was travelling in that oncoming traffic, a man who was driving an Audi A3, swerved and collided with a curb.

His vehicle suffered extensive damage and his female passenger also suffered a minor injury to her arm.

Officers are now appealing any witnesses or the driver of the Saab to come forward.

PC Adam Phillips of the Stanway Roads Policing Unit said: “The driver of the Audi was not involved in the earlier incident at all.

“Understandably he swerved to avoid the oncoming vehicle and what could undoubtedly have been an even more serious collision.

“In taking evasive action he did however suffer extensive damage to his vehicle and his passenger was also injured.

“We would urge the driver of the Saab to do the right thing and please get in contact with us.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who saw the Saab and Jetta or the subsequent collision involving the Audi.“

Witnesses can contact PC Adam Phillips at the Stanway Road Policing Unit on 101.
