Bottle thrown at cyclist from passing car

A CYCLIST narrowly escaped serious injury when a beer bottle was thrown at her head from a passing car.

Janet Curl was travelling up Clingoe Hill, St Andrew’s Avenue, when the glass missile was launched at her from a white hatchback.

The incident happened on Saturday at 5.45pm, when Janet was returning to her Elmstead Market home after work along with her husband and 14-year-old son, also on bikes.

  • Essex Police have appealed for anyone who saw the incident, or have themselves had bottles thrown at them from passing cars, to contact officers at Colchester Police Station on 101.

What a ridiculous pointless thing to do. That probably shook the poor lady up, doesn't bear thinking about what may have happened if the bottle had hit her 14 year old son. Complete idiot whoever threw it.
