POLICE took alcohol from teenagers caught boozing in Billericay High Street.
As part of the operation, codenamed Nesselrode, officers have focused on the area, covered by an alcohol exclusion zone.
Over the weekend, police confiscated 24 cans of lager, plus bottles of alcopops and vodka.
Sgt Andy Shaw of Billericay police said the operation, which has run for three weekends, has been a success welcomed by the public.
He said: "We have been doing this to prevent youngsters from breaking the law, prevent them suffering ill health through drink and to prevent crime and disorder caused by underage drinking."
Sgt Shaw said officers will also target premises who sell alcohol to under 18s.
