AN AUCTION held to raise money for a hospital radio station raised more than £4,000.
The event held in Baroosh, in Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, managed to get a total of £4,165 for Hospital Radio Chelmsford to help pay for the running costs of the station which broadcasts at Broomfield Hospital.
Items auctioned off included a week-long holiday in the Algarve, a flight over Essex in a light aircraft and tickets to some of London’s top tourist attractions.
The fundraiser was the most successful the station has ever held in its 48-year history, much to the delight of chairman Ian Smedley.
