THE Highways Agency is reminding motorists to be prepared as tens of thousands of music fans travel to Hylands Park this weekend.

Around 140,000 people are expected to attend V Festival - one of the world’s largest music festivals - with many travelling to and from Hylands Park on Friday and Monday 20.

The Highways Agency is advising road users to expect delays on the A12 and to consider traffic on other connected routes, such as the M25 and M11.

Stephen Bush, from the Highways Agency's emergency planning team, said:
"Although the music is taking place on the Saturday and Sunday, revellers will also be travelling on the Friday and Monday. We expect the Friday afternoon to be particularly busy."

Essex Police has also warned that Saturday will be particularly busy in and around Chelmsford as an internationla Scout and Guide jamboree begins just outside Writtle, bringing thousands more people to the area, and two protest marches are planned for the city centre.
