A MAN and a woman from Brentwood have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an ice cream man was attacked.

The attack happened in Grays on July 25.


The 29-year-old victim, from Tottenham, North London had to be airlifted to Queens Hospital, Romford, after sustaining head, arm and leg injuries in the attack.


On arrival, police also found the ice cream van had been damaged.


Three people were arrested overnight on suspicion of attempted murder.


A 48-year-old man and 19-year-old woman, both from the Brentwood area, and a 23-year-old man from South Ockendon.

Police were called to Thames Road, which runs through and alongside Grays Beach Riverside Park, at 1.30pm following reports of an assault.
 

Police believe the assault followed an ongoing dispute between the victim and his attackers and asked anyone with information to contact Grays police on 101.
