TWO police officers were hospitalised after their car hit a traffic island and caught fire.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened last Friday, July 20, at about 9.30pm.
The car was responding to an incident when it collided with the traffic island in Main Road, Broomfield, near to the junction with Ridley Road.
The vehicle then caught fire and no other cars were involved.
The two male constables in the car were taken to Broomfield Hospital.
The passenger was later discharged while the driver was kept in overnight as a precaution.
The road was closed until around 2am.
