TASTES of the continent are coming to Chelmsford this weekend.
The sights and sounds of a continental village market will bring a slice of summer to the town during freezing February conditions.
From Thursday February 16 to Saturday February 18, market stalls representing a number of countries will help transport residents and visitors to the continent with displays of speciality foods, crafts and gifts.
Sebastian Bristiel, of PBO Ltd, who heads the team bringing the market over from Europe, said: “Some of our stallholders wear authentic market dress and stalls are decked with national flags.
“Our continental village market is a free, entertaining, colourful and enchanting event. Come along and enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere.”
Nicolette Chambers, Chelmsford Council’s cabinet member for corporate services, added: “These markets bring a touch of colour and liveliness to the town and the local business community also benefits as more visitors are attracted to the town on market days.”
