A PLAY that focuses on the spending cuts planned by the Government is being performed in Chelmsford.
Chelmsford Trades Union Council is hosting Banner Theatre’s 1st of May Band’s production of Fighting the Cuts!
It will take place on Saturday (Feb- ruary 26) at Christ Church, New London Road, Chelmsford, commencing at 7pm. Tickets will be available on the door at £5.
The group, which is touring the country, will present a cabaret of resistance to the Government’s cuts which will feature music, video, comedy and song.
After the performance, Fairtrade refreshments will be served and a discussion will take place on the issues arising from the performance.
Malcolm Wallace, secretary of Chelmsford TUC, said: “This will be an exciting evening. The 1st of May Band has received high acclaim wherever it has perfomed and we expect a good attendance.”
