POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a daytime street robbery in which a 31-year-old man was pushed against a fence and had a backpack stolen from him.
The attack happened at around 11.30am on Thursday June 25 when the man was walking along Springfield Park Avenue, in Chelmsford. He was approached from behind by another man who forcefully pushed him against a fence, causing no visible injuries, and stole his backpack. Inside the backpack was clothing including towels and swimming trunks, cards and cash with an estimated total value of around £150.
The assailant is described as black, around 6 feet tall, with short dark hair, wearing grey jogging bottoms and top.
