Help the Aged HandyVan service in town


HELP the Aged HandyVan is visiting Chelmsford.

Older people in the town will have the opportunity to learn more about a free safety and security service in their area.

On Friday July 25 the service's fitters, Matthew Shadrake and Jim Allabush, will be available from 10am to 3pm at High Chelmer Shopping Centre near HMV to demonstrate safety and security equipment and to answer any questions about the service.

Help the Aged is keen for older people and their families and friends visiting the centre to find out more about the service.

Offered free of charge to those in Chelmsford aged over 60 who meet a charitable criteria, the fitters call by appointment only, and then assess older people's security and safety needs.

They then fit items such as locks, spy-holes, door chains, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
