ESSEX University is one of the top 30 universities in the country.
The university, which has campuses in Colchester and Chelmsford, has been ranked 29th in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019.
The Good University Guide provides the definitive rankings for UK universities and the most comprehensive overview of higher education in Britain.
The University of Essex had seen applications rise in 2018 for the fourth year in a row, at a time where other universities are seeing demand fall.
It also topped the subject tables for dance, drama and cinematics and was the top university in East Anglia for student experience.
Essex Vice-Chancellor Professor Anthony Forster said: “We are committed to offering a transformational education for our students which is reflected in the record numbers of students wanting to study with us. We are looking forward to welcoming our largest intake of new students next month and investing further in the student experience including new facilities."
