Two drug dealers have been jailed after police seized drugs with a combined street value of at least £10,000.

Joshua Blane, 21, of Wagtail Drive, Heybridge, and Robert Ketley, 23, of Berkley Drive, Boreham have been jailed for two years and nine months, and three years respectively.

Police stopped a Ford Fiesta in Butterfield Road, Boreham, on Tuesday, April 24 and noticed a strong smell of cannabis.

Joshua Blane was sitting in the front passenger seat with a carrier bag and a pair of jogging bottoms in the footwell.

There was herbal cannabis and cash inside the bag and cocaine inside a pocket of the jogging bottoms.

The drugs had a combined street value of between £475 and £950.

Blane also had a lock knife in his possession.

The 21-year-old was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply, possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of a knife in a public place.

He admitted the charges at Chelmsford Crown Court on May 24 and was sentenced today, Friday, July 13, to two years and nine months in jail.

A forfeiture order was also made for £140 he had in his possession when he was arrested.

Police also executed a search warrant at a house in Berkely Drive, Chelmsford, on April 24.

They found herbal cannabis, cocaine and drugs paraphernalia including a grinder, plastic bags and scales.

The drugs had a street value of between £9,895 and £19,520.

Robert Ketley, 23, was arrested at the property and later charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, supplying cocaine and supplying cannabis.

He admitted the charges at Chelmsford Crown Court on May 24 and was sentenced today, Friday, July 13 to three years. A forfeiture order was also made for £220 he had in his possession when he was arrested.

A forfeiture and destruction order was made for the drugs seized by police.
