The 40th Chelmsford Beer Festival is coming to the town next month.

Finalists from CAMRA’s National Cider and Perry Championships will be available to sample at the festival, taking place from July 10 to 14.

The festival boasts the largest cider bar in East Anglia with more than100 ciders and perries on show.

In addition, real cider will be available directly from two breweries - Skinners from Cornwall will be selling stock from the Cornwall Cider Company and Wibblers, a local Essex brewery, will be selling their own cider alongside craft keg beer and cask ales.

Organised by the Chelmsford and Mid Essex CAMRA branch, the festival also boasts a core range of over 300 real ales, providing plenty of choice for visitors. A number of breweries will be attending, including Bishop Nick, Brentwood, Dartmoor, Nethergate, Silks, Titanic and Woodfordes.

Beers from several Northern Irish breweries and a selection from the West Country and Wales will also be represented, alongside a key keg bar boasting more than 20 different brews.

Festival organiser Kevin Sutterby said: “We are looking forward to celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Chelmsford Beer Festival. It is very exciting to have such a broad, diverse range of real ales, ciders and perries for guests to enjoy and hopefully find a new favourite brew!”
