Residents in the city will be given the opportunity to network as Chelmsford City Council will host its ninth annual Showcase for Business event at the Hylands Estate.

The Showcase will begin at 9am on Wednesday November 15 with a business briefing from David Rayner, Chair of the Chelmsford Business Board, before it is officially opened by the Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Duncan Lumley, at 10am.

Visitors will be able to participate in workshops and masterclasses as well as receive funding advice and business support from the BEST Growth Hub.

The Grand Pavilion will once again host the main exhibition, with over 50 trade stands demonstrating what they can offer your business.

Amongst the line-up of speakers is Mark Cullen, Director of Brand and Marketing at EY will give a masterclass on The Power of Brand at 10.30am on the day.

Mark worked at advertising agency Publicis, where he helped run their digital business with companies including Fiat and Mars, before joining Norwich Union to assist in their rebrand to Aviva.

At 2pm, Brad Solomon, Founder and MD of The CTG Group, will deliver a masterclass on Enabling our Teams for the Future.

This practical session will offer new perspectives on coaching leadership behaviours that can be practiced every day to enable, challenge, inspire, and encourage individuals and teams, onsite or virtual.

This year’s Showcase will also see the return of the ever-popular lunchtime session generously sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses, with regional chairman David Bell accompanied by their special guest speaker.

Leader of Chelmsford City Council, Councillor Roy Whitehead, said “This event showcases the host of business opportunities available in our city, from commercial development opportunities to advice and support.

"The day will be of major benefit to firms intending to expand, relocate to Chelmsford, as well as existing businesses.

"I urge those in the business community to attend and take full advantage of this highly acclaimed event.”
