A man has suffered a broken jaw after being punched in the face during a late-night robbery in Chelmsford city centre.
Police investigating the attack are appealing for information from the public.
The victim, a 36-year-old man, was first approached by the suspects, two men in their 20s, while in a newsagents around 2am this morning (Saturday, August 19).
The victim then walked along Wells Street joining Railway Street, where he was punched in the face by one of the suspects, breaking his jaw, before both men made-off with the victim’s bag.
Both suspects are described as white men in their early 20s. One man was wearing a Northface hat and matching top.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, is asked to contact Chelmsford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
