The school summer holidays are here and for some parents it may feel that the holiday has suddenly been fast forwarded and are now looking for childcare or something fun for their children to do over the long summer break.

Chelmsford City Council has a range limited spaces left on its Get In! City Camps, Skills Workshops and Active Fun sessions that will ensure there’s never a dull moment.

Get In! City Camps are ideal for children aged between four and 12 years of age, and offer a huge range of supervised activities at a choice of seven locations in and around the city: Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre, Dovedale Sports Centre, Chelmsford Sports and Athletics Centre, South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre, Hylands Estate and, new for this summer, Chelmsford City Theatres.

Between 9am and 5pm, parents can leave their children in the care of friendly, qualified staff and coaches for a jam-packed half or full day of indoor and outdoor activities until Friday, September 1. Half-day City Camps are available for children aged between four and seven, while whole-day camps are suitable for eight to 12-year-olds.

Half-day camps are £15 while whole-day camps cost £30.

Other event and activities may vary in price.

Julia Jeapes, councillor for leisure, said she was proud of the council’s commitment to leisure and support to keeping the community fit and active.
