Chelmsford Museum will be creating a pop-up museum experience at this year’s 3foot People Festival at Hylands Park, Chelmsford.

Chelmsford Museum will be telling stories, reciting rhymes and singing songs all focused on the museum’s fascinating historical objects.

The fun interactive workshops are based on the museum’s ever popular ‘Friday Fives’ pre-school sessions that run at the museum during term times.

The museum’s 3foot People Festival sessions will run at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm on all days.

Chelmsford Museum’s pop-up experience will also offer fun and interesting artefacts from the museum’s collection, as well as archaeological mini digs, sensory boxes and art and craft activities.

Nick Wickenden, Chelmsford Museum’s Manager, explains: “The museum has a lot to offer pre-schoolers in the city and we’re looking forward to meeting our younger residents and inspiring an interest in history.”

The 3foot People Festival is the largest outdoor festival exclusively for pre-school children and is set to welcome over 14,000 visitors to the beautiful surrounds of Hylands Park; children, parents and carers are expected to be overwhelmed with wonder as they experience this unique boutique festival.

As well as the pop-up museum experience there is also the festival favourites such as Glastonbabies, Horse World and 3foot Beach, plus new additions for this year including Inflatable World, Teacup ride, and Bee Creative woodland wonderland.

Alongside these there are numerous other attractions, performances and activities to be enjoyed by all.

Once on site all activities and attractions are free to use, and suitable for children aged 0 – 5 years.

And to help fuel the little ones there is a mouth-watering selection of food offering child portions, plus vegan, vegetarian and allergy free options.mouth-watering selection of food offering child portions, plus vegan, vegetarian and allergy free options.
