A MAN in his 50s is in a serious condition after being in cardiac arrest this afternoon.
Two rapid response vehicles, an ambulance crew and an air ambulance were scrambled to Blackshots Lane Leisure Centre in Grays at about 12.15pm this afternoon.
An East of England Ambulance spokesman confirmed that the man was unconscious and not breathing when crews arrived, but he has since been stablised.
The land ambulance crew took the man to Basildon Hospital, where he remains in a "serious condition."
