AN UNCLE is about to tackle a 192-mile charity walk in honour of his niece who battled cancer.

Peter Copsey, from Chelmsford, and his friend, Simon Alexander, will take on the Coast to Coast Walk for Peter’s niece, Eloise Copsey.

Eloise, 15, was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma after finding a small lump above her eye.

A tumour developed in her parotid gland on the side of her face, which was removed at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford in November 2014.

Eloise later went through more surgery in December 2014 to re - moved the lymph nodes from her neck to stop the cancer spreading, at The Royal Free Hospital. London.

The pair are hoping to raise £1,000 for the Cancer Research charity.

Peter said: “The challenge itself will start on Saturday and will finish a week later.

“We are attempting to walk a staggering 192 miles in just eight days, starting by dipping our feet in the Irish Sea at St Bees and finishing in Robin Hood’s Bay by dipping our feet in the North Sea.

“The walk passes through three contrasting national parks - the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the North York Moors.”
