Braintree Arts Society exhibition, March 31 to May 2, Braintree Library.
Roger Goodson’s very recognisable David Hockney, is surrounded by some enticing works, in this must-see show.
Society stalwart, David Pasfield, confidently evokes tranquillity in his large water colours featuring water. David Pullen’s mesmeric, masterful application of acrylic is matched by Carole Pullen’s riveting canvases.
Angela Gridley’s yellow dab, Joan Kidgell’s Miro-like Model and Roger Stokoe’s Old Timers, alongside his impressive Barn Owl, invoke attempts at something different.
Jane Seymour’s bijou-sized Golden Trees would fit anywhere. Janet Curtis, Michael Scade, Simon Steel and Ann Underwood offer scenes and ships.
A big plus for the eye-level hanging of this exhibition. Sadly a minus for its computer-crowded space. The artists deserve more.
