CHELMSFORD theatre school Tomorrow’s Talent has won the Artistic Award at the Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge Grand Final.

Over recent months Glee Clubs throughout London and Essex have been competing in heats to win a place in the Grand Final at The O2 in London.

The Glee Club is made up of 30 young people aged 11 to 18 years who attend weekend performing arts classes at Tomorrow’s Talent while going to regular schools and colleges throughout Essex during the week.

Entrants were required to put together two contrasting performances to show off vocal, dance and performance ability.

Tomorrow’s Talent performed a medley from upcoming hip hop/rap West End musical Hamilton and Labi Siffre’s classic ballad Something Inside So Strong.

Following recent regional finals at Chelmsford’s Civic Theatre, Tomorrow’s Talent performed at this week’s Grand Final to an audience of over 1,500 and a panel of celebrity judges, including West End leading performers Simon Lipkin and Daniel Boys, EastEnders John Partridge and Danny Boy-Hatchard, The X Factor’s Brenda Edwards and BBC arts correspondent Brenda Emmanus. The group were praised by the Jack Petchey team for their professionalism and hard work.
