A WOMAN has been charged in connection with the death of three-year-old who was attacked by a dog in Halstead last year.
Dexter Neal, from Ronald Road in Halstead, sustained injuries after being bitten by a dog on August 18.
He was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge but tragically died from his injuries.
Jade Dunne, 29, of Parker Way, Halstead, has now been charged in relation to the incident, which happened at her home.
The dog, an American Bulldog called Ruby, has since been destroyed.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "The CPS East of England has authorised Essex Police to charge Jade Dunne, 29, of Parker Way, Halstead, with owning a dog dangerously out of control resulting in death."
Dunne has been released on bail to appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court on March 27.
