Patients at a Chelmsford surgery can now see their GP in the evening two days a week.

Sutherland Lodge Surgery, in Baddow Road, is opening for GP appointments from 8am to 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, allowing commuters and others who find it harder to get to the practice during its usual hours to make an appointment when it suits them.

Sharon Dixon, service manager at the surgery, said: “A lot of our patients work in London and outside of Chelmsford so often can’t make it to the surgery during the day. This is why we’re now opening the practice later into the evening for two days a week.

“We’ve also made sure that the GPs and members of the nursing team will be available after 6.30pm exclusively for booked appointments, so that anyone who books will be guaranteed to see someone”.

NHS services at Sutherland Lodge have been provided by Virgin Care since July 2016.
