A £5,000 donation from a local firm will allow a Chelmsford-based children’s charity to update its IT equipment and software.
Brentwood-based Bakers, the leading label printer and material supplier in the UK, has stepped in to support Kids Inspire, which works to turn around the lives of youngsters who have behavioural problems after suffering trauma, neglect or abuse.
Rachael Basset, from the charity, said the money will make “a huge difference to the streamlining of projects and planning of grant applications”.
She added: “We have been desperately needing an updated IT system and database to help us keep up with the volume of work we have, but we’ve never had the money to be able to provide it. We can’t thank Bakers enough.”
Steve Baker, managing director of Bakers, said the company had supported different Kids Inspire projects for the last five years.
He said: “This is one-off opportunity to help with the infrastructure of the charity, helping to strengthen the charity enough to take it to the next level.
“We’re delighted to be able to help the team at Kids Inspire.”
