An up-and-coming rapper gave youngsters a lesson in music technology as part of a day dedicated to the creative arts.
Eyez, who has just signed for Sony, was one of the experts leading workshops at yesterday’s event at Chelmer Valley High.
All Year 9 students at the school in Court Road, Broomfield, took part in the day, which encouraged them to think about how they could use creativity in their own lives and careers when they leave school.
Workshops on art, music and drama were led by professionals, including rap and hip hop artists Eyez and Max.
Max said: “It is important to find out what you like at school and go for it!”
Drama sessions were led by musical theatre star Katie Osborne, who has appeared in West End and touring shows, including We Will Rock You, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mamma Mia.
She told students that being creative would help them in the future, even if they didn’t go on to have careers in the arts.
She said: “Creative people are always good at interviews, because we have developed more confidence.”
“Superstar Certificates” were awarded to one student who excelled in each session.
