A college marketing team is celebrating after winning a silver award at a prestigious awards ceremony.

Writtle University College was awarded the silver prize by a panel of expert judges at the national FE First awards for the high standard of work, which included the huge rebrand project that was launched in August.

The awards ceremony was held on Monday in Northampton and showcased the very best in college marketing, with teams competing from across the country.

Craig Emery, Head of Marketing at Writtle University College, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won a silver award. It has been an extremely challenging, yet exciting year for the marketing team and we are proud of our achievements.

“The team has worked tirelessly to launch the new brand and everyone has played their role in making it a success. We cover a huge remit within our team, so the rebrand project in addition to existing workloads was a real challenge for us, but the team responded positively to the task with a strategic focus.

“To get this type of recognition from industry experts is hugely satisfying and motivating. It is acknowledgement of the exceptional level of performance in marketing and communications and it's great that our work has been recognised in this way.

“We received the ‘Highly Commended’ award when we last entered the competition in 2013 and 2015, so to go one better this year really emphasises our quality. It’s a huge achievement and I am very proud of all my team.”

The judges said: “Our Silver Award goes to a marketing team whose focus this year has been on relaunching the brand, setting clear objectives, working closely with external agencies and internal staff and stakeholders to develop the new brand and ensure it is embedded throughout the organisation. Clear objectives were set for a team which rose to a new challenge following their Highly Commended certificate in this category last year. Congratulations for their Silver Award to Writtle University College.”
