A BEAUTY salon is opening its doors to customers and shoppers to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Strand, in Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, will hold a coffee morning on October 1, in aid of the cancer care charity.

Owner Gemma Scott and stylist Laura Robins, 21, wanted to help the charity as they know people who have been affected by cancer.

Miss Robins said: “I’ve been wanting to do it for ages and thought it would raise more money if we held it at the shop instead of just for family and friends.

“Gemma agreed we could hold it here as it’s a charity which means a lot to us all.

“We are going to do a coffee and cake morning, with a raffle and just want to raise as much money as we can.”

Everyone is welcome to attend, have a coffee and meet the team.
