A CANCER charity has this week given thanks to Chelmsford fundraisers and donors – by building a landmark out of biscuits.
In celebration of Chelmsford holding the most coffee mornings in the East of England, Macmillan Cancer Support has built Hylands House, out of 3,000 biscuits.
The sculpture was built to inspire people to sign up to do their own coffee morning as the countdown to this year's event, on Friday September 30.
Last year’s event raised £27.6 million alone.
Claire Driscoll, a Macmillan Cancer Support events manager, said: “This year we really wanted to say thank you to everyone that helps make the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning so special.
“We’ve seen support for the event grow year on year for the past 25 years and now, through the power of biscuit, we’re seeing the whole nation come together.”
