A CRASH involving a teenage cyclist and a car has sparked a police appeal for witnesses.

The crash happened in in Beehive Lane near the junction with Loftin Way, at around 12.30am on Friday, July 1.

A black car sped off away from the scene while the 16-year-old boy, who sustained a shoulder injuriy, was left in the care of paramedics.

An East of England Ambulance spokesman confirmed the patient, who was still conscious and breathing, was rushed to Broomfield Hospital for further treatment

We received a call today at 12.17am to reports of an RTC involving a pedestrian on Beehive Lane in Great Baddow and sent an ambulance crew to assist. At the scene, a male teenager was treated (conscious and breathing) before being taken to Broomfield Hospital for further treatment.


A police spokesman said: "Officers are keen to trace the driver of the black car which drove away from the scene.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Nigel Taplin at Stanway Roads Policing Unit on 101."
