VICTIMS of crime and antisocial behaviour now have the chance to speak to the perpetrators in new project funded by Essex’s police and crime commissioner.
The restorative justice hub organises meetings and communication between those involved in a crime or conflict, such as neighbour disputes.
The communication allows victims to ask questions and receive meaningful reparation for the harm that has been caused.
It also results in a reduction in reoffending as it allows the culprits to take responsibility for their actions and understand the impact it has on others.
Roger Hirst, police and crime commissioner for Essex, said: “Restorative justice can be an excellent way of helping to resolve situations.”
