A teenager is due to appear in court charged with possession of a knife after being arrested in Chelmsford city centre yesterday (Sunday, April 24, 2016.
The 16-year-old boy from Chelmsford, who can't be named for legal reasons, was arrested in New Street at 5.50pm after being challenged by police dog Argon and his handler.
He was taken into custody and later charged with possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis.
The boy has been released on bail to appear at Chelmsford Youth Court on the morning of May 12, 2016.
A 21-year-old man from Chelmsford was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.
He was charged with the offence and released on bail to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on May 12, 2016.
