A man and three teenagers have been charged in connection with the assault of a teenage boy who was left injured in a lane in Little Baddow.

Tanner Bailey, 19, of The Chase, Boreham, along with two boys aged 15 and 16 from Boreham appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Friday, April 1.

All three are charged with offences of kidnapping, GBH, and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon. Bailey is additionally charged with possession of cannabis.

Bailey was remanded in custody and the 15 and 16-year-old boys were bailed until their next appearance at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday, April 14.

A 17-year-old boy from Hatfield Peverel was arrested on Saturday, April 2, and subsequently charged with kidnap, GBH and possession of an offensive weapon and will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court today, Monday, April 4.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was found in Hurrels Lane, Little Baddow at 12.30am on Sunday, March 27, with serious injuries including a fractured leg, stab wounds and broken teeth, having been assaulted in Station Road, Maldon at around 11.40pm on Saturday.

Detectives believe five people were responsible for the assault and are continuing to look for a suspect who is still outstanding.
