A man has been arrested after a taxi driver was robbed and stabbed in Chelmsford.

Officers were contacted shortly after 7.50pm on Wednesday February 3 with reports the victim had been stabbed with an unknown object in Oliver Way.

The driver, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital with an injury to his right shoulder.

He needed stitches for the wound and is now recovering at home.

A 30-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident and has been released on bail until April 9, pending further enquiries.
