Barkingside 0–4 Thurrock
From Cricklefields
Ryman One North
THURROCK climbed up to second in the league with an emphatic win over strugglers Barkingside.
Two first-half goals put Fleet in the driving seat, with Danny Francis and captain Lewwis Spence getting onto the score sheet within three minutes of each other.
Francis' strike set the tone for the night as the forward ran onto a delightful pass from Joe Christou to thrash the ball into the net on the volley.
Barkingside showed signs of rallying after the interval, but the game wasn’t wrapped up until the closing stages.
Ross Wall scored with just four minutes to go before Charlie Stimson got his name on the scoresheet to help Fleet to within six points of leaders Cray Wanderers, who have played three games more.
Thurrock: Madden, Goode, Duncan, Toner, Sutton, Clark, Christou, Spence, Francis, Wall, Cowley
